Idle Dominion

← Idle Dominion

Idle Dominion has no account, no analytics, and nothing it collects about you on its own.

There is one exception and it is opt-in: an advert you can choose to watch. The rest of this page is the detail, so that the claim can be checked rather than taken on trust.

We have no server and no account

There is no sign-in, nothing to register, and no database of ours with anything of yours in it. The app contains no analytics, no attribution and no measurement software. It does not ask for your location, your contacts, your camera, your microphone or your photos.

The advert, which is the only thing that collects anything

The store has one optional row that plays a short video and gives you the same chest the free timer gives you, without the wait. You can watch up to four a day. Nothing plays unless you tap it, nothing plays between screens, and nothing interrupts a siege.

To serve that video the advertising network needs some data about the device: an advertising identifier, the fact that an advert was shown, and an approximate region. That region is worked out from your internet connection, not from your device's location. The app contains no location code at all and can never ask you for your position — there is no permission for it to request. That data goes to the network, not to us; we never see it and we have nowhere to put it. If iOS asks whether the app may track you, saying no is a complete answer: the reward is the same either way, and you can also simply never tap the row, in which case nothing is ever requested.

Your campaign, and your iCloud

The app has no networking code of its own. It talks to exactly two things Apple runs: the App Store, when you buy something, and iCloud, which carries a few kilobytes of saved campaign so a game started on a phone continues on an iPad. That copy sits in your own iCloud account under your agreement with Apple. We cannot read it and there is no copy of it anywhere else.

What is stored, and where

Everything the game remembers is written to your device's own storage and stays there:

All of it is removed when you delete the app, apart from the iCloud copy described above, which is yours to remove from your own iCloud settings. There is no backup on our side to delete, because there is no our side.

Purchases

Idle Dominion offers three optional purchases of in-game gold. These are handled entirely by Apple's App Store. The app is told only whether a purchase completed — it never sees, receives, or stores your name, your payment details, or your Apple Account. Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction.

Children

The app has no chat, no user-generated content and no social features. We collect nothing from anyone, so we collect nothing from children. The one thing to know is that the optional advert is served by a third party and shows content we do not write; a child's device should have whatever advertising and tracking settings you would want applied anywhere else.

Changes

If a future version of the app ever collects anything, this page will say so before that version ships, and the change will be described in the app's release notes rather than only here.
